Meet Your Mentor
"If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything!"
Marty McFly in Back to the Future (1985)
My name is Izzie Baumann.
I founded Live Out Loud in 2016. My mission is to bring acting chops to performers worldwide so they can slay their audition pieces and book professional jobs!
I grew up in suburban Germany as the daughter of two tax officials. I roamed the neighboring fields, crushed frozen puddles with my rubber boots and built branch forts with my sister.
It soon became apparent that the affinity for adventure was strong in this one. Literally every single person in my family spends their work life sitting at a desk. But I knew early on that that wasn’t for me, I was meant to spend my life on stage.
My preparation for this career occured the only way I knew how: at full throttle. I joined the drama club at my high school, sang in a vocal ensemble, took voice lessons, dance lessons and even spent a year in the sparkling world of cheerleading.
Yes, there were voices telling me to choose a stable career, that there is “no money in acting”. But I couldn’t let fear or uncertainty cripple me, I owed the kid within me to try.
"I'd rather regret the things I've done than the things I haven't done!"
Lucille Ball
I also owed my future self the power of multiple qualifications. So after graduating high school, I completed a BA in Applied Linguistics at the TU Dortmund (Germany) and the University of Groningen (Netherlands).
Parallel to my studies, I attended countless workshops, trained with industry professionals and college professors of great renown. And after three years, the continuous hard work paid off: I was accepted at the Musical Arts Academy in Mainz (Germany), where I trained to be a musical theatre performer.
A few months before graduation, I got thrilling news: I was cast as an actress and assistant director in my first professional production! And this was only the beginning of a diverse career! I can already look back on professional experience in acting, singing, dancing, choreography, voice acting, assistant directing, coaching voice, acting and dance and being a writer, lyricist and translator. And I know that the past few years only represent a fraction of what is still to come. And I can't wait to find out what that will be.

Working with Izzie is always such a fun and exciting time! I love how in depth we dig into our song or monologue. I always come out of a session seeing such a difference in how my piece ends up looking and feeling!
She is wonderful at motivating and inspiring me to find the absolute best and most connection to the character we’re working on!

Izzie was a guest teacher for my studio last Spring and I’m hoping to book her again this Spring! She did great work with everyone and all I heard after the class were good and empowering ideas on how to think about characters and implementation.
Thank you again Izzie for sharing your wonderfulness!!! Xoxo
